Chatham House, Muhammadu Buhari And The Nigerian Factor
When the speculation started that APC was seeking to get a slot at the Chatham House in UK for Buhari to speak on the prospects of Democracy in Africa, folks thought that it was a little too late to get such a slot at the Chatham House since it conference halls were fully booked for the first quarter of the year.
But, trust APC with their petrodollars which Gov. Amaechi of Rivers State, an oil producing state, is ready at the beck and call to dole out. They did the magic and it worked. Fela Kuti was right when he called that style of Nigerian administration, “Government Magic.”
Okay, when it became confirmed that Pa Buhari was for sure going to speak at the Chatham House, Nigerians wondered what he was going to talk on since he’s not known for liking any aspect of democratic process.
